Fight off the winter blues with Vino in the Valley!

The winter provides us simple peace and beauty, but by March many of us are excited for the arrival of spring. In the meantime, we have the perfect way to help you fight off the winter blues. Plan on joining the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail’s event ~ Vino in the Valley! This event is a great way to go out with your friends, travel to the area’s best wineries, sample amazing wine and food pairings, and restock your wine collection!

Vino in the Valley Passport Program involves purchasing a passport for $35 and then planning your weekends to visit each of the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail wineries during March. As you visit any of the eight member wineries, you will be offered delicious wine and food pairings to enjoy. At each of the wineries your passport will be stamped so that after you collect all eight stamps you can be entered into a Grand-Prize drawing for a $250 gift certificate of Wine Trail Bucks. Also, at random, each winery will be giving away 20 $50 restaurant gift certificates over these four weekends. If you don’t have enough time to travel the entire wine trail, you can purchase a one-time tasting fee at Clover Hill for $7 to sample our wine and food pairing.

Vino in the Valley Passport Program

Clover Hill is thrilled to announce that for the fourth consecutive year we will partner with K’Town Pub Taphouse & BBQ located on Main Street in Kutztown, to offer yet another amazing menu. The chefs at K’Town Pub have educated us on the fact that Parfaits are not just for dessert anymore, as we will be serving BBQ Parfaits.

Clover Hill’s Vino in the Valley menu is as follows:
March 9, 10, 16 & 17, 2019 we will get you started with a Welcome Sangria, followed by Vignoles paired with a Smoked Meatloaf Parfait, which will include mashed potatoes and creamed corn with an apple butter BBQ sauce. We will complete your tasting with a piece of our Vidal Blanc Wine Cake for dessert. We will share the recipe.

March 23, 24, 30 & 31, 2019 we will greet you with a Welcome Sangria, followed by Pinot Noir paired with a Smoked Brisket Parfait, which will include mashed sweet potatoes, chimichurri BBQ sauce and pickled red onions. We will complete your tasting with a piece of our Catawba Wine Cake for dessert. We will share the recipe.

Friday Fun Flights

Friday Fun Flights are returning to Clover Hill Winery in Breinigsville every Friday throughout April at 3:30 pm. We will guide you through a tasting of 4 wines with 4 cheeses and share some history about how Clover Hill has grown from producing 1,000 gallons of wine a year to over 80,000 gallons per year. Flights are $12 per person (must be 21 years of age), and will last approximately 30 minutes. Spaces are limited for Friday Fun Flights so call our office at 610-395-2468 to reserve your flight.




Sangria Sunday

Little by little the weather is warming up and making the thought of sipping a glass of sangria sound like a perfect way to spend a Sunday. Be sure to join us on Sunday, April 7 from 12-4 pm at either The Winery in Breinigsville or The Vineyard in Robesonia for a glass of a most enjoyable sangria (while supplies last). Earth Day Celebration

Join us for a complimentary vineyard and winery tour as we thank Mother Nature for the opportunity to spend another year farming grapes. We will take a short walk to the edge of the vineyard to talk about the beautiful young growth you are able to see. We will then visit all areas of production so you can get a clearer idea of what goes into turning grapes into the wine you enjoy all year long. The tour will be approximately 90 minutes and we will sample a few wines along the tour. Since we are a working winery we suggest that you dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes. This is a free tour and reservations are not required. Our facility is handicap accessible.




Spring Fever Wine Tasting Class

Let’s talk spring and summer wines! So many of us tend to lean toward white or rosé wines - and sometimes a bit sweeter - for the warmer spring and summer months. Join us for a class that will feature a number of our spring and summertime favorites. We will also talk wine and food pairings, serving temperatures and more. The class will be held at The Winery in Breinigsville on Sunday, April 28 at 2 pm. The class will be approximately 90 minutes and we will cap off the event with a Spring Wine Cocktail to sip along with a few hors d’oeuvres. Must be 21 to attend and the class is limited in size. Tickets are required and typically sell out very fast, so stop by the winery to reserve your seat or call our office today at 610-395-2468. Tickets are non-refundable.




Summer Sipping Slushies

Bud Burst Festival

Every spring we look forward to the vineyards bursting back to life, it is such an exciting time of year. This year we want to celebrate with a festival of activities. We will start by raising our glass in celebration to the new vine growth with a wine slushie in our hand! Join us at Clover Hill Winery in Breinigsville on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday May 5 from 1-4 pm for Summer Sipping Slushies. We will be offering two flavors of slushies for purchase by the glass at only $6 - with $5 refills - and you keep the stemless glass. Our festival of activities will include a tent hosted by igourmet. igourmet offers an array of gourmet foods and is located near Wilkes-Barre. Here at Clover Hill we carry a variety of igourmet cheeses year round, but on this weekend they will be on site offering samples of new cheeses and meats along with some Clover Hill wine pairings. The tented part of the day will require a $5 ticket purchase. Tickets will be available on site the day of the event. igourmet also will have their products available for purchase under the tent. Beginner Photography Workshop

Are you looking to improve your photography skills? Spend the afternoon with award-winning photographer Jim Gavenus, capturing the beautiful setting at Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery. Jim will start off by guiding you through a better understanding of camera functions, lighting and composition. Then attendants will spend the afternoon photographing in the vineyard (weather permitting) and in the winery. At the completion of the class, all guests will be rewarded with wine and cheese! This class is limited in size and class requirements are as follows:
~ DSLR camera and manual (if possible) required to bring with you
~ Fully charged camera battery
~ Memory card
Class will begin promptly at 1 pm
Beginner Photography Workshop tickets are nonrefundable.

About the photographer:

Jim Gavenus is an internationally recognized documentary photographer. His projects focusing on the human condition, social injustice and civil rights have won him numerous awards and have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the globe.

Witnessing the beauty and heartache of the world first hand, his intimate images and poignant storytelling are evidence of our time. He is the recipient of the Gordon Parks Documentary Photographer of the Year Award.

His editorial work covers a range of events both large and small, with an emphasis on the music industry. His work appears for Sony Music, Columbia Records, Lost Highway Records, Merlefest and FarmAid. He has worked with more than 30 Hall of Fame musicians, is regularly featured in industry publications, and his work was selected for the North Carolina Bluegrass Hall of Fame.

Gavenus has exhibited his work and is represented in the permanent collections of the Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, Florida; The Gordon Parks Center of Photography, Fort Scott, Kansas; The New York Historical Society, New York, New York; and Mother Jones, San Francisco, California.

Tour tickets are $12 per person and entitles you to a 10% discount on a purchase the day of your tour.
