If you are out doing some wine tasting at Clover Hill or traveling the
Lehigh Valley Wine Trail and need a bite to eat to keep you wine tasting -
stop at our favorite local bar; Spectators Bar & Grille. Their soups and
sandwiches are great (the chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms and sauce is
our personal favorite)! The owners and staff are so friendly, Spectators is
only 5 minutes from Clover Hill Winery and you can have a glass of Clover
Hill wine while you are there. Let them know we sent you.

Great travel tips
from a Berks County native
... suggestion by Charles Snyder
01.28.2010
If you are visiting our Robesonia location, here are some great travel tips from a Berks County native.
The Clover Hill Winery in Robesonia is very close to other venues which
provide for a wonderful one or multi-day visit to Berks County and
surrounding areas.
After visiting Clover Hill, many people have lunch or dinner at Ozgood's in
Robesonia, a pleasant pub type restaurant serving great food and drinks.
Many other fine restaurants dot the landscape from the winery to the Reading
area.
A number of visitors during the summer bring their picnic lunches, walking
shoes, bicycles, boats, skis and swimwear since Blue Marsh Lake is only two
miles from the winery. Great trails which stretch from the lake to Gring
Mill and beyond bring out multitudes of walkers and bikers, who then visit
one of the picnic areas for lunch and the Blue Marsh swim area for a
refreshing day in the water. Two excellent boat launches provide easy
access for boaters and skiers. Those with canoes can access the upper
tributaries of Blue Marsh.
After visiting Clover Hill and Blue Marsh, many people drive a few more
miles toward Reading to the Goggle Works Art Center, or to Municipal
Stadium to see future big leaguers playing for the Reading Phiilies, or to
the famous Outlet Capital of the World, the Vanity Fair Outlets."
The Hawthorne Suites... suggestion by Melissa Ripper

The Hawthorne Suites are a great place to stay when visiting the local wineries. It is only 2 miles from Clover Hill Winery. The staff at the Hawthorne is very courteous and more than accommodating in making your stay a comfortable one. The rooms are not only affordable but beautifully modern. Check out their website for more information: www.hawthorn.com

A great place to get something to eat after a full day of wine tasting happens to be one of my favorite restaurants, the Buckeye Tavern 3741 Brookside Road Macungie, Pennsylvania. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, dress is casual, reservations are not required but on weekends would be a good idea. The menu offers everything from burgers to seafood and steaks. Speaking of steaks if you never had a Black Diamond steak it is a must try, and happens to be a house specialty.

Grim's Greenhouse & Farm Market is our neighbor right across the street from
the winery in Breinigsville and it is a wonderful place to visit. In autumn
you will find a number of activities to keep the kids and adults busy. Try
the cornmaze, shop for mums, pick your own pumpkins or take home some
locally grown produce! For more information, visit www.grimsgreenhouse.com

Are you planning on staying overnight while visiting the wineries? Try one
of our local B&B's for a truly local experience. Longswamp B&B is located
just minutes from Clover Hill and in a great location to wineries,
restaurants, hiking, the Veledrome and much more! For more information,
visit them at www.longswamp.com.

Cali Burrito is one of my favorite spots when you need a healthy and delicious lunch or easy dinner. Great burritos and tacos with a definite west coast vibe and less than 15 minutes from Clover Hill Winery. Grab some take out and bring it to enjoy on the patio at the winery or take a bottle of Clover Hill wine to enjoy there - they are BYOB!

Paese Mio is one of our favorite local Italian restaurants less than 10 minutes from the winery. No need to dress up and make sure you take along you favorite Clover Hill wine (it is a BYOB). Their pizza is delicious, entrees are well made and the garlic is plentiful! This is a great local restaurant for good eats and you can never go wrong with a BYOB! Clover Hill Sangiovese is our favorite for this Italian jaunt!

Last night, in spite of the freezing temperatures, I was at the Reading Phillies pouring wine at their exhibition game against the Iron Pigs. Great baseball, fun stadium, local fun and you can drink Clover Hill Wine there! Really, it is a great outing for family or friends, so next time you are in the area why not check out a game! Opening day is on 4.9.09 or you can view the season schedule at www.readingphillies.com.

3.27.09 – The Arrival of Spring
With the arrival of Spring comes warm days, endless amount of work in the vineyards, Sparkling wine and ice cream! Seriously, after a long day’s work with the vines, nothing makes me smile more than Sparkling wine. I love the bubbles and Clover Hill happens to make a wonderful Brut and Cuvee.
One of our sweetest neighbors in Breinigsville is Premise Maid Candies. If you have never been there, on your next visit to Clover Hill head one mile southwest of the winery and treat yourself to some of their wonderful treats! Premise Maid is a local favorite and their homemade ice cream is heavenly! They are open from 9am-9pm Monday – Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday.
On the next warm night celebrate spring with a glass of bubbles and ice cream!
